Nicole Pagowsky is an Instructional Services Librarian with the University of Arizona as of October 2011. Her previous position was with Dallas County Community College District as a Librarian III (reference, instruction, collection development) and SACS Librarian to assist with college-wide accreditation initiatives. Selected as a 2011 ALA Emerging Leader, Nicole conducted research with her group on best practices for collection development of videogames in libraries. Being an academic librarian, Nicole has a particular interest in videogame collections supporting curriculum and outreach in academic libraries. She will be continuing on to a phase II in the research with her teammate, Erik Bobilin, to develop a standardized MARC record, as well as examine critical theory in videogames to develop suggestions for socially responsible selection supporting a diverse user base. Nicole has been volunteering with Radical Reference since 2007, and is also the creator/curator of Librarian Wardrobe. Her research interests include outreach, emerging technologies, instruction, user experience design, and LIS student & early-career issues. |
